Admissions Process and Apply Admissions

Your journey at Hamilton College begins as soon as you make that first contact. Our Director of Admissions and Marketing, Mrs Greta Montgomery, is here to help you at every stage.

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision and we aim to make the process as easy as possible.


Admissions Process

1. Submit an Admissions Enquiry to Gather More Information, Schedule a Tour or Request a Prospectus

2. Come and Visit Us

Our Admissions Team will contact you to arrange a convenient time to come into the school and see it for yourself. This is the best way to see if our school is the best fit for your child.

3. Complete an Application Form

If you decide that Hamilton College is the right choice for your family, the next step is to complete the Application for Enrolment.  There is a £120 registration fee associated with the application and assessment.

When you apply, you will be asked to set up a log in for our Admissions Portal.  The Admissions Portal allows you to keep track of the Admissions Process.

4. Schedule a Taster Day and/or Entrance Assessment

During a Taster Day, a prospective pupil is given a Buddy and experiences Hamilton College along with our current pupils.

Our Entrance Assessments typically take place in January, but can be arranged at any time throughout the year.

The Entrance Assessments for entry in August 2026 will take place on the following dates.  If you have missed these date, please do not worry.  We can schedule for a later date.

  • Junior 1 - Thursday 22 January
  • Junior School - Tuesday 20 January
  • Senior School - Monday 19 January 

The Entrance Assessment takes approximately half a school day to complete. The Entrance Assessment can be done as part of a Taster Day.

If successful, you will receive an Offer of Place through our Admissions Portal.  You will be asked to accept or decline the place in the portal.

5.  When You Accept Your Child's Place

You will receive a new Enrolment checklist that include a digital signature for the contract, Advanced fees deposit, and enrolment documents.  They can all be done through the Admissions Portal.

6.  Transition Events

You will receive notification of Transition Events in the parent portal.
