Current Vacancies

Principal Teacher of Science

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader to take up the position of Principal Teacher of Science to lead the Science Department into the next chapter of its journey. We welcome applications from experienced teachers who are GTCS registered for Chemistry and Biology with experience in teaching Chemistry at all SQA levels and Biology to National 5. This role encompasses learning and teaching learners from 2-18 across the curriculum.

Principal Teacher of Pastoral x 2 posts (1.0 FTE each)

Hamilton College seeks to appoint two inspirational leaders to take up the position of Principal Teacher of Pastoral from August 2024. Responsible to the Depute Head Pastoral, this role encompasses supporting and teaching learners from 2 – 18 across the curriculum and supporting learners from Transitus to S6. 

This position is suitable for experienced teachers who are GTCS registered, or eligible to do so. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be required.

Temporary Teacher of English 0.8 FTE

Hamilton College seeks to appoint an inspirational teacher of English from August 2024.  Responsible to the Head of English and Languages, this role encompasses learning and teaching from J6 to S6 across the curriculum.  An opportunity has arisen for a 0.8 FTE role on a temporary basis (Tuesday – Friday), teaching a range of classes.  The appointment may last a few months to a whole year depending on circumstances.

The successful applicant should be registered with GTCS teaching, must be either an existing member of the PVG Scheme or be prepared to join this scheme and prove their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. An offer of employment will be subject to two satisfactory references and a clean report from Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.
