Where pupils have particular learning needs we work in partnership with parents, pupils and class teachers in order to help them overcome any barriers to learning.
Support may only be needed for a specific element of the curriculum or for a short time. At other times we work closely with pupils, parents and staff for a longer period of time. Depending on the needs of the pupils, assistance can be given through individual tuition, small group teaching or in a cooperative teaching capacity when we work in the classrooms alongside the class teachers. In addition to school staff, we liaise closely with specialist services such as orthoptists and educational psychologists. Where necessary we also consult with experts in speech and language therapy and occupational therapy.
The best support for our pupils involves all three parties, pupils, parents and staff, working together.
