Board of Governors
Hamilton College is an Educational Charity owned by Christian Schools (Scotland) Limited.
Our Board of Governors add an extra dimension to the expertise available in the running of Hamilton College. Governors contribute additional skills to our educational setting, offering support and advice to the Principal and also shape the future strategy of a school. The Governors of Hamilton College are responsible for the entire operation, in terms of strategy, policy, performance, educational provision, facilities and have a “duty of care” to pupils, parents and staff within the scope of the school policies.
Some governors are from professional backgrounds with legal, accountancy or surveying skills, or have experience in education such as teachers or retired heads while others are parents of children who want to play a greater role in shaping the way the school is run. All of our Governors are committed Christians.
“As we move forward, Hamilton College must continue to build on its strengths and successes, continuously striving to be a leading-edge 21st century school. We should remain proudly rooted in Christian values whilst providing an outstanding education that develops confident, tolerant, enthusiastic pupils who are ready to influence the world.
I would like the school to have a sustained record of exceptional examination and inspection outcomes, and I would like to see Hamilton College continue to grow in reputation developing partnerships at local, national and international level. Everything matters – I want our pupils to send out a positive message about the school through their behaviour and manners and the pride they take in their appearance. I would also like the fabric of our buildings and facilities to improve with each passing year, thus ensuring the provision of a high quality learning and teaching environment which facilitates and give status to the work of our motivated and dedicated teachers. ”
