Yearbook
The Yearbook came into being to enable our S5/6 to celebrate in their own words their experiences at Hamilton College from J1 or S1. Highlights include trips, sports, parties, social events and first day at school. The Yearbook is entirely self-financing with an ethos of raising money to pay for the yearbook and a donation to charity. The students raised money through sponsored walks, bike rides, Smartie tubes, and a silent auction of a signed Rangers top and a signed Celtic top. Charities that money has gone to include CHAS, Maggie’s Centre and buying strips for the schools girls and boys football teams. The Yearbook Committee is made up of S5/6 students who volunteer to give up their lunchtimes, after school and weekends to organise fundraising activities, articles and photographs. The Yearbook is a fun way for students to develop skills that come into play at university or the workplace such as making group decisions, working as a team, delegating work and reporting back on their role to the larger committee. Above all it helps to develop friendships and build closer ties to the school and staff involved in the Yearbook.
