Intermediate 1 RMPS
Topics taught
All S3/4 pupils follow the SQA's Intermediate 1 Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies (RMPS)course. This involves a study of a world religion (Christianity), a moral issue (War and Peace) and the Existence of God.
Homework requirements
Homework is set on an occasional basis to reinforce classroom learning and to prepare pupils for internal assessments.
Assessment details (internal and external)
Each unit of work has a NAB lasting 1 hour. Pupils must achieve a mark of at least 12 out of 20 to achieve a pass. All NABs must be passed successfully to achieve a course award. The external exam consists of one paper lasting 1 hour and 30 mins.
Next steps
Pupils may choose to move on to the Intermediate 2 or Higher course as an option in S5/6
