Intermediate 2 Physics
Topics Taught
In S3 and S4 Intermediate 2 Physics is taught. This comprises four Units on mechanics and heat, electricity and electronics, waves and optics and radioactivity. Most pupils complete the Intermediate 2 Physics examination at the end of S4 but the option of completing the Intermediate 1 Physics examination at that stage remains open for those who have particular difficulty with the more demanding Intermediate 2 course.
Homework
During S3 and S4 pupils can expect to complete one formal ink exercise per fortnight as well as being asked to finish off class exercises at home on a more regular basis.
Assessments (Internal and External)
Each Intermediate 1 and 2 Unit requires a unit Test pass for successful completion. Candidates must also pass a practical examination in order to pass either course overall. Finally they must complete the relevant course examination at the end of S4.
