Higher Grade Physics
Topics Taught
Pupils who completed Intermediate 1 Physics in S4, or those who failed to pass the Intermediate 2 Physics examination at that stage, have the option of completing the Intermediate 2 course in S5 or S6. Other pupils wishing to proceed with physics complete the Higher Grade Physics course. This is composed of three Units on mechanics and properties of matter, electricity and electronics and radiation and matter.
Homework
Pupils studying Intermediate 2 or Higher Grade Physics in S5 or S6 can expect to receive weekly formal homework exercises as well as being asked to complete classwork exercises at home on a regular basis.
Assessments (Internal and External)
Each Higher Grade Physics Unit has an End of Unit Test. Candidates must also pass one practical assessment for the course.
