Trip to Germany - Easter 2007
A trip to Germany has been arranged for a group of forty S3 pupils, accompanied by five members of staff during the first week of the Easter holidays. The trip leaves school on the evening of Wednesday 28 March 2007 and will return very early on the morning of Wednesday 4 April 2007.
This will be the fourth trip to Germany, organised by the Modern Languages & Classics Department, with the assistance of colleagues from other subject areas. We are confident that this trip will not only be enjoyable but also educational, enhancing pupils’ study (past, present or future) of German language and culture.
Our journey will be by executive coach, which will be available for use during our stay in Germany, and by ferry between Dover and Calais. We hope to arrive at our destination - a small hotel in the village of Hatzenport on the River Mosel - by late Thursday afternoon.
The following excursions are planned:
- A display at a bird of Prey Centre in a spectacular setting in the grounds of a fairytale castle above the river Rhine
- A visit to the Phantasialand theme park.
- Visit to Trier, with time to see various Roman remains
- A morning in Boppard, with the opportunity for sightseeing and shopping
- A boat trip on the river Rhine, followed by a visit to the picturesque town of Rüdesheim
