Advanced Higher Economics
Topics Taught
The assessments consist of one hour assessment per unit of the course; one assessment for the first two units and two shorter assessments for the third unit.
The 3 units are
- Microeconomics
- Economic Issues and Policies
- Economic Research
Students are also required to undertake one Dissertation (The dissertation is marked externally, counting as 25% of final exam. Internal recording of evidence will require pupils to complete the Economic Research unit as part of this process)
Homework
Roughly 5 hours of homework is required a week mainly for research of current events and for the dissertation. Written essays and summary notes are also required weekly.
Assessments (Internal and External)
Each unit is assessed separately with the final exam being a mixture a data response item and essay questions.
