Nursery News

Daily in the nursery, children discover new and exciting things. It is a privilege to work with enthusiastic learners as they grow and develop. Milestones are passed which are significant for the individual. For example the day on which a child, who is not inclined to draw very often, took a white dry wipe board and pen and drew an intricate representation of a ‘war of the worlds’ machine. Or the day that another child tried tasting new food.

Small steps or are they?

NurseryRecently we had a delivery of some super new ICT toys which will enhance role play. We are developing the use of these and our computer skills.

Parents helped us by sharing their knowledge. A dad talked to us about his job as an ophthalmic optician and another parent talked about her work as a new mum.

Speech and Drama Class  -  The children are having fun at their weekly session with Mrs Lannigan.   They are learning lots of new poems and love to take home their folder to do ‘Homework’.

Toothbrushing -  We enjoyed a visit from South Lanarkshire Council’s Oral Health Educator.  She brought along her naughty puppet that spat out food that was full of sugar and smacked his lips when given healthy food.    Mrs Hamilton also brought new brushes so that the children can begin their daily toothbrushing routine.
