Letters Home
Dear Mummy and Daddy,
How are you and how is my hedgehog? I’m fine but a bit homesick. I worry about you most of the time and I pray you will be fine and that the war will end very soon so I can come back home.
I’m living in a huge cottage with a garden like a jungle. The cottage is outside a village and I have a perfect view of sunset and sunrise from my bedroom window (I think Mr and Mrs Cook gave me the room to comfort me )
They are both very kind and treat me like a son and I even helped Mrs Cook make rosehip syrup today. In the village there is no school so Mr and Mrs Cool teach me a bit every day.
I miss home but I’m enjoying being here. I hope the Germans don’t get you.
Please write back quickly
Love,
Euan
P.S. Give Euan junior (the hedgehog) a treat from me.
