Imaginary Planet

Imaginary Planet

I peeked out of the hatch.  I could see a dark brown landscape ahead of me.  I was breathing deeply.  The hatch creaked open and I took my first steps onto this mysterious planet.  My suit made me feel like I was in a cocoon.  Dust, like baby powder, floated above my head.  I could see a pitch black sky that stretched for miles around and tiny stars twinkled.  It looked like the stars were glued to the sky.  I could hear myself breathing very deeply now.  I felt scared and excited at the same time, but I was also a bit worried.  I tried to build courage to go further.
Then I saw what I came to see - - - Earth.  But Earth wasn’t the only planet I could see.  It was breathtaking!

I built up the courage to take more steps into the planet.  My boots seemed to feel very heavy.  The messages from my brain to my feet didn’t seem to be going very quickly.  After a while I stopped and took my metal detector out of my back pack.  I was going to look for some gems.  I walked around for a while then it started bleeping very loudly.  I got out my spade and began to dig.  I had found the gems.  I picked them up and began to make my way back to the rocket.  It took a long time because there is no gravity.  When I got back to the rocket I put the gems in a special container.  I got into my seat and put on m y seat belt.  Then we blasted off back to Earth.  I felt pleased, happy and excited about completing my mission.
