Senior School
The high academic standards and expectations from the Junior School continue to be fostered in the Senior School.
English, mathematics, languages and sciences form the core of the curriculum with a wide choice of other areas of study available throughout the senior school. From S1, the curricular structure is designed to set pupils firmly on the road to success in external examinations at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels in S4, S5 and S6, with the ultimate goal for most pupils being entry to higher education.
Attainment is significantly ahead of the majority of Scottish schools with Higher and Advanced Higher pass rates consistently high. This is the result of the hard work, effort and dedication of staff and pupils, as well as the efficacy of small class sizes operating in rooms with excellent IT support.
All work and no play is of course exceedingly dull! Therefore our extra-curricular programme offers a fantastic variety of stimulating opportunities for the development of a wide range of talent, and there are many pupils who are successful at national level in a variety of activities.
