About the School

Hamilton College is a co-educational, non-denominational Christian independent school forchildren and young people aged 3-18, welcoming pupils of all faiths and none.

We have a family atmosphere, and a strong supportive ethos. At Hamilton College, we have high expectations of our pupils and are committed to excellence in their academic development. We care for each child individually by offering first rate pastoral care and life-affirming experiences which encourage pupils to develop their existing strengths and talents.

There are a wealth of opportunities at Hamilton College; from the academic, to the sporting, creative, and spiritual dimensions of school life. Academic standards are consistently well above national expectations. The progress of younger pupils exceeds expectations for their age and in the senior school, SQA data shows the College ‘adds value’ to the educational experience.

Children and young people are also encouraged to develop their talents in art, music and sport. Specialist teaching in these subjects begins in our Nursery with regular visits to the music department and use of the College’s excellent on-site sports facilities including a state of the art, all-weather sports pitch, 25m indoor heated pool, two gymnasia and a games hall.

We draw the best from every pupil with a holistic educational experience which encourages pupils to become well-rounded citizens who leave the school prepared for whichever path they choose.

Our Campus

We are located in Hamilton, with our Nursery, Junior and Senior Schools not only on a single campus but in one building. Hamilton College sits in 17 acres of grounds, benefiting from stunning views over Hamilton Park Racecourse to Strathclyde Country Park. A scenic setting but easily accessible from the M74 and bus/rail public transport links. The School also offers our own bus services, covering North and South Lanarkshire as well as part of Glasgow.
